South India’s largest Rice Mill with paddy storage facility comes up at Perundurai

Chennai Rice Industries India Private Ltd, has established South India’s largest rice mill with paddy storage facility at Perundurai in Erode District on Wednesday (January 28, 2026). The facility has been established by the Chennai Rice Group that has the solid backing of 75 years of experience. The plant has the latest technology from Famsun of China, and Buhler of Switzerland which ensures that paddy is stored in an automated manner for upto 24 months without being affected by heat or rain. 


Delivering the welcome address at the inauguration, Mr. M.S. Tamilselvan, Chairman, Chennai Rice Industries India Private Limited stated “We are proud to launch South India’s Largest Rice Milling Plant. This is a 30 tonnes/hour Rice Milling plant with 1 Lakh metric tonnes of Paddy Silo storage. For us at Chennai Rice, it is a bold leap forward. We believe in providing superior rice without any compromise in quality. This is because we have embraced the best of cutting edge technology from across the globe to feed Tamil Nadu and India”.


Mr. Anil Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director – KRBL, makers of India Gate brand of rice who was the Chief Guest said that in the Agro Industry, the purpose of business is to produce quality products liked by the customer. He complimented Chennai Rice for supplying high quality products and having achieved consumer interest and acceptance.


Ms Mary Olwal, Managing Director Global for grain quality and supply, Buhler Group, Switzerland stated that there is lot of privilege and also responsibility to be a part of the food industry.  We are honored to be part of this project of Chennai Rice. We believe that development and innovation in this field leads to a better world.


Mr. George, President South Asia, Famsun Group, China, said the company has supplied the advance rice silos for this project. Mr. Rajkumar, Managing Director of the company honoured the suppliers, Mr. Purushothaman Vice President of the company thanked various people who made this project a reality.
