LG Electronics India (LGE India) has signed long-term solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Hinduja Renewables Energy Pvt. Ltd. and Sunsure Energy to power its manufacturing plants in Greater Noida and Pune. The initiative will generate over 3.2 crore units of clean electricity annually, supporting up to 50,000 households and significantly reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

Under the agreements, LGE India will source renewable energy through a 9.80 MWp solar project for its Pune facility and an 11 MWp project for its Greater Noida plant, collectively offsetting around 0.61 million metric tonnes of CO2e over the project lifetime. “This project marks our first captive renewable energy initiative in India and reinforces our shift towards sustainable manufacturing,” said Hong Ju Jeon, Managing Director and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, LGE India.

Industry partners also highlighted the collaboration’s impact. Deepak Thakur, MD & CEO of HREPL, and Shashank Sharma, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Sunsure Energy, emphasized their commitment to supporting LGE India’s clean energy transition and India’s broader decarbonisation goals. The 25-year agreements are set to commence in the second quarter of 2026.
