Western Digital (WD) has announced the relaunch of the G‑DRIVE brand as the unified identity for its external storage portfolio designed for content creators and creative professionals. With this move, products previously sold under the SanDisk Professional label will transition to the G-DRIVE brand, bringing high-capacity and high-performance storage solutions for professionals working in photography, video production, graphic design, and audio engineering.
Commenting on the development, Darrin Bulik, Director of Product Management at Western Digital, said the G-DRIVE name has long been associated with reliable, high-performance storage for creative professionals. He added that consolidating the company’s creator storage portfolio under the G-DRIVE brand will help deliver more product choices backed by WD’s storage innovations and trusted reliability.
The initial lineup under the G‑DRIVE brand includes products such as G‑DRIVE ArmorATD, G‑DRIVE desktop drive, G‑DRIVE PROJECT, G‑RAID PROJECT 2, and G‑RAID SHUTTLE storage systems. These solutions are designed to support demanding workflows ranging from on-set capture and real-time editing to backup and post-production, offering high capacities and fast data transfer speeds for individuals, studios, and businesses.
