World Day Against Child Labour was observed at the Thoothukudi District Collectorate with a series of awareness programmes aimed at eliminating child labour and promoting children's rights.

A pledge-taking ceremony was conducted under the leadership of Thoothukudi District Collector Vishnu Mahajan. Officials from various government departments participated in the event and pledged their commitment to preventing child labour and ensuring the welfare of children.

To further strengthen public awareness, the Labour Department launched a special signature campaign. The Collector inaugurated the campaign by signing the register and encouraged public participation in the movement against child labour.

An awareness vehicle equipped with posters and stickers carrying anti-child labour messages was also flagged off by the Collector. He affixed awareness materials on the vehicle before formally launching the campaign.

The programmes highlighted the need for collective action and community involvement to completely eradicate child labour and ensure every child receives education and a safe childhood.
