BJP Tenkasi District President Submits Key Railway Infrastructure Demands to Union Railway Minister

BJP Tenkasi District President Ananthan Ayyasamy met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi today and submitted a memorandum outlining several long-pending railway infrastructure demands benefiting the people of Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Virudhunagar districts.


During the meeting, the Railway Minister reportedly listened in detail to the requests and assured that they would be examined expeditiously and appropriate action would be taken.


Among the key demands presented were:


Introduction of a new Tirunelveli–Bengaluru/Mysuru train service via Tenkasi and Sivakasi to cater to the growing needs of information technology professionals and other working commuters.


Restoration of the historic Tirunelveli–Kollam railway service.


Provision of a stoppage for Train Nos. 16101/16102 at Pambankovil Shandy, popularly known as Tamil Nadu’s “Lemon City.”


Upgradation of Tenkasi Railway Station into a terminal station along with the construction of a railway bypass line.


Implementation of the Tenkasi–Sengottai double railway line project.


Construction of a subway at the location of the closed LC-463 railway gate in Chennikulam.


The memorandum emphasized that these projects would significantly strengthen railway connectivity, improve passenger convenience, and support economic growth across southern Tamil Nadu.


Expressing gratitude after the meeting, Ananthan Ayyasamy thanked Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for his continued support towards the development of railway infrastructure in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
