The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) held its District Executive Committee meeting in Tiruppathur, Sivaganga district, the day before yesterday.
The meeting, held at a private marriage hall, was presided over by District Secretary Advocate Ramachandran. Regional Secretary Periyasamy and Regional Deputy Secretary Sangu Udayakumar attended as special invitees.
During the meeting, the newly elected union and town secretaries were introduced to the party members. Discussions focused on intensifying the party's role and organisational preparedness for the upcoming local body elections.
The executive committee also deliberated on participation in the Melavalavu Memorial Day observance on June 30 and the forthcoming Tamil National Conference.
Among the resolutions passed was a proposal urging the party to field VCK President Thol. Thirumavalavan as a candidate in the upcoming Tiruchirappalli by-election. The committee also resolved to celebrate Thirumavalavan's birthday on August 17 in a grand manner.
The meeting was attended by District Treasurer Pandimuthu, State Deputy Secretaries Arumugam, R. Bose, and Kanaguravi, along with union and town secretaries.
Earlier, District Deputy Secretary Moorthy welcomed the gathering, while District Women's Wing Secretary Vijaya proposed the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the meeting.
