To commemorate the birthday of Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, the Thoothukudi District Congress Committee organized a breakfast distribution programme for elderly residents at an old age home in the city.
The event was held at the “Pasakkarangal” Old Age Home located in Chidambara Nagar under the leadership of North District Congress Committee President Perumalsamy. As part of the celebration, breakfast was served to the senior citizens residing at the home.
The arrangements for the programme were coordinated by Jayakkodi, President of the All India Congress Workers Committee.
Several party functionaries participated in the event, including North District Vice-President Pethuraj, City Secretary Ignatius, Fishermen’s Wing representative Michael Cruz, Tribal Wing President Muniyasamy, and Mahila Congress members Dhanalakshmi, Isakkiammal, and Jessy.
Congress office-bearers and party workers such as Selvamurugan, Murugesan, S.M.D. Sundararaj, Santhakumar, Balakrishnan, Kamaraj, Mariappan, Muthuraj, Thermal Muthu, and Shakespeare, among others, also attended the programme and joined in serving breakfast to the elderly residents.
