The Association of Surgeons of India – Tamil Nadu State Chapter (TNASI) successfully hosted the 3rd edition of the Chennai eTEP Master Class, a premier academic program focused on the evolving science of Abdominal Wall Reconstruction (AWR) and complex hernia management. The event brought together leading international experts from the USA, Europe, and Australia, along with renowned national specialists, to discuss the latest advancements in hernia surgery.
Designed for practising surgeons, the Master Class featured expert lectures, master surgical videos, multidisciplinary discussions, and interactive case-based learning sessions. The scientific program highlighted modern approaches to abdominal wall reconstruction, a rapidly growing surgical sub-specialty known as Herniology, with a strong focus on improving patient outcomes and reducing hernia recurrence.
Speaking at the event, Organising Chairman Dr. Ravindran Kumeran said the initiative aims to advance specialised hernia care through expert training and the increasing adoption of laparoscopic and robotic techniques. Chief Guest Dr. Maruthupandi, National President of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), reaffirmed TNASI’s commitment to promoting surgical education and enhancing patient care in the field of anterior abdominal wall reconstruction.
