Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. has announced its entry into the residential house wires segment with the launch of its new range, Crompton Armor Wires. The company unveiled the products at launch events held across Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Karnataka, marking its expansion into a category that forms a key part of household electrical infrastructure.
The move broadens Crompton’s presence beyond its existing portfolio of fans, pumps, lighting and appliances. The company said it will initially focus on South India, leveraging its distribution network and brand presence in the region before expanding nationally.
The Crompton Armor range includes multiple variants designed to address different household electrical requirements. Among them, Armor Ultra features 10 per cent more copper and is designed to operate at temperatures of up to 90°C. The company said the wires are engineered to deliver reliable power flow, enhanced safety and long-term durability.
According to Crompton, the wires are made using 99.9 per cent pure copper and incorporate low-smoke, low-toxic-gas properties. The products also feature flame-retardant, anti-termite and anti-rodent characteristics and comply with RoHS and national safety standards.
The company’s go-to-market strategy includes engagement with electricians, contractors, retailers, architects and builders. Alongside the product launch, Crompton has also introduced the Crompton Saathi App for electricians, aimed at providing product-related information and details on applicable incentives.
Crompton noted that the residential house wires segment is estimated at ₹30,000–35,000 crore and is expected to witness strong growth over the coming years, presenting a significant opportunity for expansion.
