The 6th State-Level Muay Thai Boxing Championship was held at Seyyadhu Ambal Public School, Peravoor, Ramanathapuram District, from May 8 to May 10, 2026. The three-day event witnessed the participation of nearly 180 fighters — men, women, and children — from districts including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Erode, Tirunelveli, Sivagangai, and Ramanathapuram.
Representing The Action Zone Boxing Academy, Erode, young athletes aged 9 to 22 years — Nalanraj, Nigayyanraj, Pranav Tamiliniyan, Vaibo Tamiliniyan, Veda, and Siyas Ahmed — showcased outstanding skill and determination. Each of them secured gold medals in their respective categories, bringing pride to Erode.
A special highlight was Nigayyanraj, who competed in the Professional Fight category and emerged victorious with a gold medal, further elevating the academy’s reputation.
By virtue of their success, these champions have qualified to participate in the National-Level Muay Thai Championship, scheduled to take place from June 1 to June 4, 2026, at Haldwani, Uttarakhand.
The winners were honored with medals and congratulated by Mr. Kandhasamy Amudhan, Secretary of the United Muay Thai Association of Tamil Nadu, along with other dignitaries. Their achievements mark a significant milestone for Erode’s sporting community.
