IIM Tiruchirappalli Welcomes New Batch with Tree Plantation Drive

The Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIM Tiruchirappalli) welcomed its incoming batch with a celebration of community, sustainability, and new beginnings.


The day commenced with a tree plantation drive on the Institute campus. As students participated in planting saplings, the activity symbolised the beginning of their academic journey and reinforced the Institute's commitment to environmental sustainability.


In his welcome address, Prof. Satish S. Maheswarappa, Dean (Academics), IIM Tiruchirappalli. Welcoming the incoming students, he congratulated them on joining the Institute and reminded them that admission to IIM Tiruchirappalli marked an important milestone rather than the final destination. He encouraged students to remain grounded and continue demonstrating the dedication, perseverance, and self-belief that had brought them to the Institute.


The gathering was subsequently addressed by Prof. Godwin Tennyson, Director (In-charge), IIM Tiruchirappalli. In his address, he described the occasion as a celebration of academic achievement and the beginning of a new phase of learning. He encouraged students to embrace the opportunities and experiences that would shape their time at the Institute. Reflecting on the transformative nature of management education, he urged students to pursue their academic journey with commitment and purpose.


As part of the ceremony, certificates were awarded to students featured on the Director's Merit List across the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM), Post Graduate Programme in Management–Human Resources (PGPM-HR), Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM), and Executive Doctoral Programme in Management (EDPM).


The inauguration ceremony also featured addresses by Shri Arjun Beri, Senior Director, Model Risk Management, BNY, and Shri Akshay Khanna, Managing Partner, AVASANT.
