Intensive Foot Patrols in Erode to Ensure Public Safety

Business MInutes

The Erode District Police have intensified foot patrols in areas where vehicles cannot easily pass, with the objective of strengthening public safety and preventing criminal activities. Acting under the directives of Superintendent of Police T.V. Kiran Sruthi IPS and guidance from Town DSP Muthukumar, patrols were carried out in narrow lanes, deserted stretches, and poorly lit zones within the South Police Station limits.

Inspector Anuradha led the operation, with police teams walking through residential pockets and marketplaces to directly engage with locals. Officers monitored secluded areas to prevent miscreants from disturbing the public, while also interacting with residents and shopkeepers to raise awareness. Citizens were advised to inform police when leaving homes locked, report suspicious movements immediately, and install CCTV cameras. Road safety rules such as mandatory helmet use were reinforced, and strict provisions of the POCSO Act were explained to protect children and minors.

This proactive initiative has been warmly welcomed by the public, instilling a stronger sense of security and trust in law enforcement across Erode.
