Chennai-based Nice Neotech Medical Systems, in collaboration with the Raindrops Foundation, donated neonatal care equipment worth ₹5 lakh to Kasturiba Hospital in Gandhigram, Dindigul district, to support the welfare of newborn babies and improve care for premature infants.
The donation was made as part of Nice Neotech Medical Systems' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The programme aimed to enhance neonatal healthcare services at Kasturba Hospital by providing advanced neonatal care equipment for newborns, particularly those born prematurely.
The event was presided over by paediatrician Dr. Sathya Jeganathan, while paediatric specialist Dr. Balaji Prabhu was present as the guest of honour. Public Relations Officer T. Nagaraj welcomed the gathering.
The neonatal care equipment was formally handed over by Gerlin Wilson, Chief Operating Officer of Nice Neotech Medical Systems, and Aravind Jayapal, Founder and Managing Trustee of the Raindrops Foundation, to representatives of the Gandhigram Institute of Rural Health, including paediatrician Dr. Sathya Jeganathan and Dr. Balaji. The organisations have been consistently supporting public healthcare by providing medical services and essential medical equipment.
Speaking on the occasion, Aravind Jayapal, Founder and Managing Trustee of the Raindrops Foundation, expressed gratitude to Nice Neotech Medical Systems for its commitment to social welfare.
"We sincerely thank Nice Neotech Medical Systems for extending this valuable support. These life-saving neonatal care equipment will play a vital role in protecting and caring for newborn babies," he said.
Dr. Sathya Jeganathan of Kasturba Hospital said the newly donated equipment would significantly strengthen the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and enable many more infants to receive high-quality treatment.
She further explained that the equipment is designed to provide newborns with a warm, protected environment that closely resembles the comfort and security of a mother's embrace, thereby promoting better care and recovery.
Nursing Superintendent Rosie, along with nurses and staff members of Kasturba Hospital, also participated in the programme.
