“Life is not a struggle but a game, and Sadhguru’s Krishna Leela beautifully conveys this message,” said Professor Rama Sreenivasan while speaking at the launch of the Tamil book Krishna Leela in Madurai.

The book launch event was held at V.S. Chellam Saraswathi Mahal on Kamarajar Salai, Madurai. The book explores the many dimensions of Lord Krishna through the insights and interpretations of Sadhguru.

The event was attended by Vedapriyanandaji Maharaj and Alagarkoil temple priest Sundara Narayanan Bhattar as special guests. BJP Tamil Nadu State General Secretary Professor Rama Sreenivasan, noted writer Kalaimamani Marabin Maindhan Muthiah, and Professor Gurunyanambika also participated and delivered special addresses on the significance of the book.

Speaking on the occasion, Rama Sreenivasan remarked that if he were to name the book himself, he would have called it “Play, Music and Celebration,” reflecting the essence of Krishna’s life. He noted that Krishna was a figure who challenged conventional traditions and demonstrated that life should be approached with a sense of playfulness rather than as a constant struggle.

He further observed that Tamil culture itself reflects this outlook, citing examples from village traditions where even hardships and illnesses are often viewed through a spiritual and symbolic lens rather than purely as suffering.

The book is based on Sadhguru’s discourses delivered during the special “Leela” programme conducted at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore in 2005. Through those talks, Sadhguru highlighted how Krishna approached many pivotal moments in his life with grace, ease, and a playful spirit.

The speeches from the “Leela” programme were later translated and adapted into Tamil by acclaimed writer “Subha.” The series appeared for more than 150 months in the Isha Kattupoo magazine and received an enthusiastic response from readers. The collection has now been compiled and published in book form by Isha Life.

According to Sadhguru, understanding Krishna in his entirety requires both “a balanced intellect and a heart capable of unconditional devotion.” This perspective forms the central theme of the book.

Sadhguru’s books have been translated into more than 50 languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, English, Spanish, German, and French. His works have sold over five million copies worldwide. Among his most celebrated titles, Inner Engineering and Karma have featured on the prestigious New York Times Best Seller list.

The newly released Krishna Leela is now available at leading bookstores across Tamil Nadu as well as through online platforms. Earlier launch events were held in Puducherry and Tiruchirappalli, while similar programmes featuring leading Tamil scholars are scheduled to be held in Chennai in the coming weeks.
