Tamil Nadu Health Minister Inspects Erode Government Medical College Hospital

Tamil Nadu Minister for Medical and Family Welfare, K. G. Arunraj, conducted an inspection at the Government Erode Medical College and Hospital in Perundurai, Erode district, on June 14, 2026.


During the inspection, the Minister reviewed various aspects of the hospital’s functioning, including maintenance of records, pharmacy operations, medicine stock availability, laboratory facilities, emergency care services, bed capacity, sanitation facilities, treatment procedures for outpatients, parking arrangements, and overall cleanliness of the hospital premises.


He also interacted with patients to gather feedback on the quality of treatment being provided by doctors and medical staff. The Minister examined daily patient attendance records, the usage of medical equipment and instruments, staffing details, diagnostic services, monitoring mechanisms, and the hospital kitchen where food is prepared for patients. He instructed officials to ensure that the hospital and its surroundings are maintained in a clean, hygienic, and patient-friendly manner.


Subsequently, the Minister inspected a newly constructed building at the hospital featuring 100-bed facilities, built at an estimated cost of ₹34 crore. He reviewed the infrastructure and amenities provided in the new block.


The inspection was attended by S. Kandhasamy, Erode West MLA K. K. Anand Mohan, Modakurichi MLA T. Shanmugam, Principal of Government Erode Medical College and Hospital Dr. T. Ravikumar, along with other departmental officials.
