South India's broadcast and cinema industry is gearing up for one of its biggest annual gatherings as the Broadcast Media Cinema Expo (BMCE) 2026 opens from 17–19 July at the Chennai Trade Centre. Bringing together professionals from broadcasting, filmmaking, OTT, production, post-production and digital content creation, the event is expected to serve as a key platform for business, innovation and collaboration.

Now in its new avatar after evolving from Cinema Today, BMCE has become a dedicated marketplace for the region's rapidly growing media and entertainment ecosystem. The exhibition will run alongside the 26th edition of Image Today Asia, a leading trade show for photography, videography, digital imaging and studio technologies.

The event will be inaugurated by Shri L. Murugan, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs. Distinguished Guests of Honour include Shri Manoj Paramahamsa, Chairman, Tamil Nadu Government M.G.R. Film & Television Institute; celebrated cinematographers Shri PC Sreeram and Shri R. Rathnavelu; and A. Karthik Raaja, President of the Southern India Cinematographers Association (SICA).

BMCE 2026 will feature more than 60 exhibitors displaying the latest broadcast, cinema and production technologies, while welcoming an estimated 3,000 to 5,000 trade visitors from across India. Live product demonstrations, knowledge sessions and networking opportunities will be among the key attractions.

Image Today Asia will showcase over 150 exhibitors, including leading global imaging brands, offering visitors hands-on experiences with cameras, lenses, lighting equipment and creative tools. Together, the twin exhibitions are expected to further strengthen Chennai's position as a leading destination for South India's media, broadcasting and creative technology sectors.
