The 21st Installation Ceremony of the new office-bearers of the Dindigul Cosmos Lions Club, along with a welfare assistance distribution programme, was held at the Sathangudi Nadar Uravinmurai Marriage Hall in Dindigul.
For the 2026–27 term, Syed Suraj assumed office as President, Riyas Khan as Secretary, and Prabhu as Treasurer.
The newly elected office-bearers were welcomed with garlands and ceremonial headgear before being escorted to the stage in a colourful procession accompanied by welcome music. Former District Governor Thangaraj administered the oath of office to the new team, while former District Governor Ravindran inducted new members into the club.
Speaking after assuming office, the newly elected leaders pledged to strengthen the club’s service activities and expand its community welfare initiatives during their tenure.
During the function, the club’s patron Thiburcius, along with office-bearers, distributed welfare assistance to 70 beneficiaries, including dhotis, sarees, rice bags and educational scholarships. Financial assistance was also provided for the development of places of worship and women’s empowerment initiatives.
In total, welfare assistance worth ₹10 lakh was distributed during the event.
The programme was attended by club office-bearers, members and a large number of members of the public.
