The Department of Tamil at Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sanlax Publications, a Madurai-based international journal and publishing organisation, to strengthen collaboration in Tamil research and literary studies.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at the university campus in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Panchanatham.
The agreement was signed by Registrar (In-Charge) M. Sundaramari on behalf of the university and S. Lakshmanan, Proprietor of Sanlax Publications.
Under the three-year agreement, the Department of Tamil and Sanlax Publications will jointly organise workshops, seminars, conferences, and research programmes related to Tamil language, literature, and research. The publishing house will also support the publication of research papers produced by the department in its journals and assist in bringing them out as books.
Among those present at the event were Head of the Department of Tamil Prof. P. Anandakumar, Dean Prof. S. Shajee, Associate Professor C. Chidambaram, Editor-in-Chief of the Sanlax International Tamil Research Journal Dr. N. Murugesapandian, Sanlax Publications Editor P. Karthikeyan, and Tamil Department Expert Prof. T. Karuppaiah.
