Haworth, a leading global workplace furniture manufacturer, has marked nearly three decades of operations in India by expanding its manufacturing footprint with a second facility near its existing plant in Sriperumbudur, Chennai. Once operational, the new factory will double the company's manufacturing capacity and strengthen India’s role as a key production and export hub for the Asia Pacific region.
Speaking about the expansion, Praveen Rawal, Vice President – Sales, Asia Pacific, Haworth, said, “India is one of our key growth markets, driven by rapid technology adoption and the expansion of Global Capability Centres (GCCs). By expanding our manufacturing presence, we aim to support the ‘Made in India’ vision while also increasing exports of India-made products to global markets.”
Manish Khandelwal, Managing Director, Haworth India, said the company's manufacturing operations combine global design standards with local expertise to deliver high-quality workplace solutions. He added that Haworth's nearly 30-year journey in India reflects its long-term commitment to investing in local manufacturing, innovation, sustainability and the communities it serves.
