Following the instructions of Dindigul District Superintendent of Police S. Jayakumar, an anti-drug awareness rally was held in front of the Dindigul Collector's Camp Office.
The rally was jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Dindigul Midtown, NPR Arts and Science College, Natham, and NPR College of Engineering.
The rally was flagged off by Dindigul Town Traffic Inspector Valliyammal. Sub-Inspectors Karthikeyan and Muthuramalingam, along with Special Sub-Inspectors Sureshkannan and Nataraja Perumal, were present on the occasion.
Among those who attended the event were Rotaract Club Chairman Engineer Thulasidas, Midtown Rotary Public Image Chairman Ramesh Murali, Secretary Sherly Jesuraj, President Ravishankar, NPR Arts and Science College Principal Dr. Saravanan, NPR College of Engineering Principal Dr. Seva Perumal, Rotaract Club President Veeranandhakumar, Secretary Raghavarthani, Coordinator Sundararajan, NSS Programme Officers Sivakumar and Chandrasekaran, and J.J. Cars Ramesh, among others.
More than 300 students participated in the rally. Carrying placards bearing messages such as "Drug-Free Tamil Nadu" and "The Future is in Our Hands," the students marched through the city's major streets while raising slogans against drug abuse, spreading awareness about the need to eradicate narcotics from society.
