Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis garu with respect. In this meeting, several aspects of mutual benefits between the two states were discussed. During the meeting held at the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s camp office in Mumbai on Tuesday, fruitful discussions were held between the two leaders on the issues of tiger conservation in the Eastern Cape and giving two female tigers from Maharashtra to the state. Decided to cooperate more in the future regarding common interests.
On this occasion, Sri Pawan Kalyan garu spoke "As the number of female tigers has decreased significantly in the eastern Kanumala region of Andhra Pradesh, genetic problems have arisen. In this order, we are taking the help of Maharashtra government to restore the number of tigers. Maharashtra government has agreed to give two female tigers to Andhra Pradesh. We express our heartfelt gratitude for their cooperation. The conservation of tigers in the eastern fades remains an important milestone in history. Along with overcoming interbreeding problems with the entry of female tigers into the eastern ranges, genetic diversity contributes to long-term stability of tiger numbers. Thus creating a healthy, self-sufficient tiger habitat system in the eastern foothills.
The joint conservation exercise reflects the fact that both states are committed to biodiversity conservation based on scientific methods and sustainable wildlife management. We believe that this partnership between Andhra Pradesh-Maharashtra states will contribute significantly to the long-term conservation of tigers in the eastern foothills. On this occasion, I would like to express my special thanks to Shri Bhupender Yadav, Union Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister for continuously guiding us in taking this program forward. They said that they will move forward with more coordination with the Maharashtra government, the central government and other partner organizations in achieving the goals of conservation of wildlife and biodiversity protection.
