The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Coimbatore Branch Office, in association with the Southern Region Water Treatment Equipment’s Manufacturers and Traders (SRWTEMT) Association, is organized a BIS Awareness Meet for MSME Sector on RO Water Treatment / Dispensing System at Hotel Royal Embassy, Erode on 25.08.2026 (Tuesday).
The meet aims to create awareness among MSMEs and manufacturers in the water treatment sector about Indian Standards, mandatory Quality Control Orders (QCO) and BIS licensing procedures for RO Water Treatment / Dispensing System. The program will also highlight BIS activities and the importance of standardization in ensuring product quality, safety and consumer trust.
The event commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by Bala Subramanian, Apex Associates, EC Member of SRW Association, Erode.
Ramesh K , Scientist-E/ Director & Head, Bureau of Indian Standards, Coimbatore, delivered the Inaugural Address and brief on Programme Objectives.
Thivya Prabhaa B, Engineer-Product Certification, BIS Coimbatore, presented an Introduction to BIS Activities.
A detailed technical session on Indian Standards, QCO and BIS Licensing Procedures for RO Water Treatment / Dispensing System presented by Rino John S, Scientist-E/ Director, Bureau of Indian Standards, Coimbatore. The session followed by an Open House Discussion for participants to interact with BIS officials and industry experts.
Mohammed Iskaq, RR Industries, Madurai, EC Member of SRW Association and Ravi Chandran, Conway Water Purifier, EC Member of SRW Association given speech as the Guests of Honour. A Special Address delivered by Shri. Mahindran, Executive Coordinator of SRW Association.
The Vote of Thanks proposed by Shri. Vinyl Raj, AVVA Marketing, EC Member of SRW Association, Erode, followed by the National Anthem and Lunch.
More than 100 participants from MSME manufacturers, traders and stakeholders in the RO Water Treatment / Dispensing System sector in the Erode region participated and benefited from the awareness program.
