The seventh round of the High Level Meeting between the Indian Coast Guard and its Vietnamese counterpart was held in Chennai on 25th August, 2026.
Major General Luong Dinh Hung, Vice Commandant, Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG), called on Director General of Indian Coast Guard Shri Paramesh Sivamani, AVSM, PTM, TM, during the ongoing visit of the Vietnamese Coast Guard delegation to Chennai.
The meeting was followed by the 7th Indian Coast Guard (ICG) – Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) High Level Meeting that was conducted in the Coast Guard Regional Headquarters, Chennai. The ICG delegation was led by DG Paramesh Sivamani, AVSM, PTM, TM and the VCG was led by Major General Luong Dinh Hung. The high level meeting served as an important platform for discussions on matters of mutual interest, further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two maritime forces.
The discussions focused on enhancing professional cooperation, strengthening maritime engagement and deepening operational coordination between the ICG and the VCG. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to sustained engagements and enhanced cooperation towards ensuring a safe, secure and sustainable maritime environment.
