KONE Elevator India, in partnership with ExNoRa International Foundation, has successfully completed the restoration of Keelkattalai Lake and development of its Eco Park, creating a greener and more biodiverse space for the community. The restoration included de-weeding, dredging and desilting, strengthening of lake bunds, pathways, fencing, lighting and safety infrastructure, along with Vetiver plantations, bird islands and extensive tree plantation.
The project was inaugurated by Amit Gossain, Managing Director – KONE Elevator India, in the presence of J. Kamatchi, MLA, Pallavaram Constituency, and representatives of ExNoRa International Foundation. The Eco Park also includes dedicated spaces for children, senior citizens and the wider community. KONE Chennai employees actively participated as volunteers by planting trees, with many saplings now growing into young trees.
Speaking on the initiative, Amit Gossain, Managing Director – KONE Elevator India, said that Keelkattalai Lake is a strong example of what collective action can achieve and highlighted the meaningful contribution of employees to the project. The restored lake and Eco Park are expected to provide the community with a greener environment, enhanced biodiversity and a space to connect with nature for years to come.
