As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Smart Sanitation Foundation organised an awareness rally under its Toilet Thiruvizha initiative at Panchayat Union Primary School, Panpozhi, Tenkasi District, Tamil Nadu, on 15 August 2026.
The rally was organised to create awareness among students and the community about cleanliness, sanitation, hygiene and dignity for all. Students, teachers, former students (alumni), volunteers and community members actively participated in the rally, carrying awareness placards and spreading messages on the importance of clean and healthy sanitation practices.
The active participation of the school's former students and volunteers added strong community support to the initiative and encouraged students to become responsible citizens and sanitation champions.
Kaliappan, Founder of the Smart Sanitation Foundation and an alumnus of the school, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the school management in recognition of their support and active participation in the initiative.
Toilet Thiruvizha is a community-driven initiative of the Smart Sanitation Foundation aimed at making sanitation awareness more engaging, inclusive and impactful.
