A two-day awareness and beneficiary registration camp on various Central Government welfare schemes is being held at RAR Marriage Hall near the bus stand on GST Road in Maduranthakam on September 2 and 3.
Organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), the camp is being conducted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Officials are creating awareness among the public about various welfare schemes and explaining the procedures to avail the benefits. Eligible beneficiaries are also being assisted with applications and registration.
The camp was inaugurated by Maduranthakam Revenue Divisional Officer Narendran by lighting the traditional lamp. Municipal Commissioner C. Sugendran delivered the felicitation address, while CBC Director (Tamil Nadu & Andaman) Kamaraj presided over the programme.
Assistant Publicity Officer Veeramani of CBC Puducherry delivered the welcome address and Assistant Officer Jayaganesh of CBC Vellore proposed the vote of thanks. District Lead Bank Manager Srini Ganesh, District Social Welfare Officer Brahma Vidhya Nayaki and ICDS officials Nandhita and Mohana were among those present.
Awareness stalls have been set up by ICDS, India Post, Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Jan Aushadhi Kendra and Common Service Centre (CSC). Officials are interacting with the public and providing information on the schemes and benefits available to eligible beneficiaries.
