The inauguration of first-year classes for undergraduate students was held at Nandha Engineering College, which has crossed its silver jubilee milestone and continues its journey with a focus on social development through enhancing students’ livelihoods.

The inaugural function was formally launched by lighting the traditional lamp by Bhanumathi Shanmugan, member of the Sri Nandha Educational Trust, and Sasikanth Jayaraman, Chief Human Resources Officer of MulticoreWare, Chennai, who attended as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Sri Nandha Educational Trust Chairman V. Shanmugan expressed happiness that Nandha Engineering College, which is stepping into its 26th year, has received prestigious accreditations from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). He said these recognitions ensure that the quality of education and research offered by the institution is globally acknowledged.

He stated that college life marks the beginning of a new chapter, where students move beyond their school years and prepare themselves for a successful and fulfilling future. He urged students not to emerge merely as graduates after four years, but as capable engineers who can identify social problems and develop innovative technological solutions.

Shanmugan also advised parents not to focus solely on high marks, but to trust their children’s talents and encourage them consistently, emphasising the belief that “persistent effort leads to success.” He conveyed his best wishes to the newly admitted students and their parents.

Earlier, Principal Dr. U.S. Raghupathi welcomed the first-year students and their parents.

Delivering the special address, MulticoreWare Chief Human Resources Officer Sasikanth Jayaraman said that the day children enter college is a dream-come-true moment for parents. He noted that the age between 18 and 24 is crucial for developing good habits and preparing for the next stage of life. He advised parents to engage in regular conversations with their children rather than merely controlling or monitoring them.

He also encouraged students to cultivate a lifelong learning mindset instead of limiting themselves to a four-year academic programme. Urging them to focus their thoughts with the clarity and determination of an eagle’s vision, he wished them a life filled with positive thoughts, good values and exemplary conduct. He also interacted directly with the students.

Sri Nandha Educational Trust Joint Managing Trustees S. Nandhakumar Pradeep and S. Thirumoorthy, Technical College Principal Dr. S. Nandagopal, Polytechnic College Principal G. Mohankumar and Nandha Technical Campus Administrative Officer A.K. Velusamy participated in the event and welcomed the first-year students.

The vote of thanks was delivered by R. Thiruneelakandan, Coordinator of the programme and Head of the First-Year Engineering Department.
