A free guidance and training camp was organised for aspirants preparing for competitive examinations at the Thoranamalai Sri Murugan Temple. As a continuation of the initiative, arrangements have been made to conduct free online classes for competitive examination aspirants.
Located on the Tenkasi–Kadayam road, Thoranamalai Sri Murugan Temple has been undertaking various educational and social welfare activities along with its spiritual services. A library named after K. Aathinarayanan–Chandraleela has been established at the foothills of the temple to promote the knowledge and educational development of students.
The temple administration has also been conducting various training programmes to help rural students improve their educational and employment opportunities. Traditional rural sports and cultural activities are also being taught as part of these initiatives.
As part of these efforts, a free guidance and training camp was organised yesterday jointly by the Thoranamalai Temple administration and Dr. P. Annamalai IAS Academy for rural students preparing for competitive examinations, with the objective of helping them realise their dream of securing government jobs.
Murali, a faculty member of Annamalai Academy, participated in the programme and explained in detail how to prepare for competitive examinations such as Group II, Group IIA and Group IV, as well as how to approach and face the examinations effectively.
Those who had previously stayed and studied at Thoranamalai and successfully cleared competitive examinations also participated in the programme. They shared their experiences regarding the examinations and explained the books and facilities available at the Thoranamalai Murugan Temple library for competitive examination preparation.
Following the training camp, the temple administration announced that arrangements had been made to conduct free online classes for students preparing for competitive examinations. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Thoranamalai Temple administration and Annamalai IAS Academy.
Through this initiative, aspirants who are unable to travel to Thoranamalai will also be able to receive training online from their homes.
Film director and actor Bharathikannan and a large number of students participated in the event.
The arrangements for the programme were made by the temple hereditary trustee Shenbagaraman.
