LANXESS and Hindustan Colas Private Limited (HINCOL) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to assess innovative bitumen and asphalt modification technologies for India’s growing infrastructure market.
The agreement provides a framework for technical evaluations, commercial trials and business development initiatives focused on Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) and Warm Mix Asphalt technologies.
As part of the collaboration, the companies will jointly test LANXESS’ Addipave® CR 36, an advanced cross-linking technology for PMB applications. The trials will assess its potential to enhance production efficiency, product consistency, quality and operational safety. LANXESS will supply the product and technical expertise, while HINCOL will provide testing facilities, operational assistance and performance assessments under Indian conditions.
The companies will also evaluate Addipave® WM 23, a warm mix asphalt additive intended to lower production and paving temperatures without compromising road performance standards. The technology could help reduce energy consumption and emissions, improve workplace conditions and support more sustainable paving operations.
The partnership combines LANXESS’ global capabilities in specialty additives and formulation technologies with HINCOL’s expertise in bitumen technology, road construction solutions and infrastructure projects across India.
Vince Patram, Global Head of Marketing, Business Unit Lubricant Additives, LANXESS, said the collaboration would help expand the company’s asphalt application footprint in India through solutions tailored to local requirements.
LANXESS senior executive Neelanjan Banerjee and HINCOL CEO and Director Debashis Chakraverty also highlighted the partnership’s potential to improve road performance, operational efficiency and sustainability.
