In Erode District Collector Raja Gopal Sunkara personally visited and inspected the various development projects being carried out in Barkur Panchayat areas of Andhiyur Panchayat Union.

Yesterday in the presence of A.G.Venkatachalam, Member of Andhiyur Legislative Assembly, Raja Gopal Sunkara, District Collector visited the various development projects going on in Erode District, Andhiyur Panchayat Union, Barkur Hill Villages during a press tour. He visited and studied. According to the direction of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, various development projects are being carried out specially for the benefit of the people in the Municipalities, Municipalities Boroughs and Village Panchayats under the Panchayat Union in Erode district. 

Accordingly, Yesterday the District Collector has released 3 sets of houses built at a cost of Rs. 3.00 lakh each on behalf of the Tribal Welfare Department in the area of Cholalar under the Andiyur Panchayat Union, Parkur Panchayat and at a cost of Rs. 269 lakh each under the Prime Minister of India's Housing for All scheme. Under Erode Vanakottam, Barkur Tribal Hill Village Infrastructure Development Project, bore well and 10,000 liter capacity overhead water storage tank built at a cost of Rs.8.00 lakh, government tribal boarding middle school operating in the same area, also in Ottanoor area. 

Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, he visited and inspected the place where the cement concrete floor has been set up at an estimate of Rs.8.23 lakh, the road facility is to be set up for the sub- regulation sales hall operating in the Needle Hill area and the place where the concrete floor is to be set up on the road for the government tribals to go to the boarding school. Moreover, the District Collector personally visited Barkur Government Primary Health Center and inquired from the doctors about the treatments provided to the patients. He also inquired about the health of the person who had received the treatment at the government primary health center and returned home and asked about the treatment given at the hospital. 

Earlier after hearing the grievances of the people living in the Solaarea, the district administration instructed the concerned officers to take steps to ensure that they get basic needs such as drinking water, road facilities and electricity. Subsequently, Jyotika, a student of Barkur Government Tribal Undi Boarding High School, secured 508/600 marks in the 12th class in the government general examination and the District Collector felicitated the student and presented a memento Earlier the District Collector also visited and inspected the Barkur Cattle Research Center operated by the Tamil Nadu Veterinary Science University in Barkur area and inspected the products such as ghee, curd, butter and cow dung made from cow dung, lamps and flowerpots. He also inquired about the activities of Matina Research Station from the concerned officers.

During this inspection, Rural Development Agency Executive Engineer, Ramasamy, Anthiyur District Development Officers Sivasankar, Alanth, Associate Director (Family Welfare) Rajasekhar, Assistant Engineer Sivaprasath, Barkur Village Council Chairman Malayan, government officials, local bodies. There were many representatives of the organization.
