The Trained Nurses Association of India – Tamilnadu State Branch (TNAI – TN) was established in the year 1950. It is an organization of nurse professionals at different levels serving with an objective to uphold the dignity and honor of the nursing profession, promoting a sense of espirit de corps among all nurses and to advance professional, educational, economic and general welfare of nurses in Tamilnadu.The Trained Nurses Association of India – Tamilnadu State Branch celebrates the International Nurses Day on the 12th May 2023, at 7 am to commemorate the 203rd Birth Anniversary of Florence Nightingale – Founder of Modern Nursing on the theme “OUR NURSES. OUR FUTURE” at VHS-M.A.Chidambaram College & School of Nursing, Voluntary Health Services Hospital, Taramani, Chennai.
Dr. R. Sudha , SNA Advisor, TNAI – TN State Branch gave the welcome address and the theme for the event was unfolded by the President, TNAI – TN State Branch.
On this occasion, The association portrayed the image of Florence Nightingale through a “203 feet Rangoli drawn by 203 nursing students in 23 minutes” which was declared as the record by the Adjudicators, Dr. Elangovan and Mr. K.Ratna Sabapathy from “World Young Achievers Book of Records”.
Dr. Jaeny Kemp, Vice-President, South Region – TNAI was the Chief Guest and witnessed the event and inspired the students with her motivational words.
The function ended with the Vote of Thanks by Dr.T.R.Udaya Kumar, Vice- President, TNAI – TN State Branch.
