TNAU organized Skill Development Programme under NAHEP

The Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore organized Skill Development Programme for third year Under Graduate students under ICAR-National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) – Institutional Development Plan (IDP). The Programme was conducted for Five days from 19.06.2023 to 23.06.2023. The B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) students attended hands on training on Robotics for Smart Agriculture by i-ROBOCHAKRA Robotics Training Academy, Coimbatore. 

In the training, the students gained basic knowledge on electronics and robotics with separate kits containing robotic components. The B.Tech. (Food Technology) students were imparted with training on Food Safety Management system – Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) by Paradigm Services Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. 

The training involved gaining knowledge on food safety and quality management, identity the hazards associated with the production and processing of specific type of food and implementing HACCP plans in food industry. The B.Tech. (Energy and Environmental Engineering) acquired training on Industrial Energy Audit by Senior professionals from South Indian Textile Research Association. The training was mainly focused on energy management, Industrial energy auditing and practical onsite training at SITRA premises and textile mills. 

The Vice-Chancellor of TNAU Dr.V.Geethalakshmi visited the students during the training programme and supervised the training module and the skills carried out by the students. Also she encouraged the students to make use of the training further with continuous practice.  The Skill trainingswere offered under the guidance of Dr. A. Raviraj, Dean (Agrl. Engg.), AEC & RI, Coimbatore.
