School of Post Graduate Studies, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore organised a Workshop on the Criteria and Conditions for Patenting Inventions on 15.07.2023 at its Online Academy. This workshop was intended to educate students on the importance of their inventions and encourage them to submit patent applications in time.
Dr.N.Senthil, Dean, School of Graduate Studies welcomed the participants and briefed about the workshop. Dr.V.Balasubramani, Controller of examinations, TNAU inaugurated the Patent Workshop and delivered the Inaugural Address. Dr.Rajiv Kumar Singh, Assistant Controller of Patents and Design, Patent Office, Chennai outlined the several aspects of Intellectual Property Rights in India and also highlighted its different types namely copyright, trademarks, patents, geographical indications, plant varieties, industrial designs and semiconductor integrated circuit layout designs. He congratulated TNAU for filing 15 applications for the process of patenting and for obtaining 5 patents. Ms.Meena provided participants with hands-on training about patent search instructions. Dr.N.Natarajan, Co-ordinator (Patent Cell) proposed the vote of thanks.
