Thoppur Police Station along with Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR) conducted a raid at five different locations including Sri Veeramathiamman Automobiles, Sri Balaji Traders, Sri Venkateswara Traders, Sri Balakrishna Traders and Sri Maruti Automobiles and seized huge quantities of counterfeit Tata Motors Tata Diesel Exhaust Fluid from the locations.
Sathish Kumar from Sri Veeramathiamman Automobiles, M. Raja from Sri Balaji Traders, Manoj from Sri Venkateswara Traders, Balakrishnan from Sri Balakrishna Traders and Rajamanikam from Sri Maruti Automobiles have been arrested from the locations and FIR has been lodged against the accused at Thoppur Police Station. Mr Stephen Jesubatham, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Dharamapuri District and Mr Rajesh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, PEW i/c. Dharamapuri Range gave permission to conduct the raid. The counterfeit products were seized with the help of Mr Subramani, Sub Inspector of Police and team from Thoppur Police Station. The case has been registered at Thoppur Police Station vide FIR No 0242/2023, dated: 08.09.2023, U/s.51 (b) (i) & 63(a) of Copyright Act 1957. The Police is further investigating the case.
