Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports organized a declamation competition at state level on the topic My Bharat Viksit Bharat@2047 at Govt. Youth Hostel Adyar in which the first position holders of the district level competitions from all districts of Tamilnadu & Puducherry were invited to participate.
The contestants were given option to speak in English, Hindi or Tamil on the given topic. Ms. G. Vaishaly, from Virudhnagar district bagged the first prize of one lakh & certificate. Mr. B. Aravinth from Coimbatore district won the second prize of Rs.50,000/- and certificate. Two third prizes which comprised a cash award of Rs.25,000/- each and certificate went to Ms. K. Srinithi of Mayiladuthurai District & Ms. R. Kavyasree of Thiruvannamalai District.
Thiru. M. Annadurai, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau Chennai was the chief guest in the closing ceremony and distributed cash awards, certificates and mementos to the winners. Thiru. K. Kunhammed, State Director, NYKS, Tamilnadu& Puducherry presided over. Dr. Manojkumar Singh, Head of the Hindi Department, Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Chennai, Prof. Indumathy Srinivas, Asst. Professor & Head of the English Department, Mar Gregarious College of Arts & Science, Chennai & Dr. P.M Srisubeiksha, Asst. Professor, Department of English, Pachaiyappa’s College, Chennai who evaluated the performance of the contestants also spoke on the occasion.
