Co-operative Bank Employees Union to go on statewide strike from March 23

Under the leadership of District Secretary SM Mesappan, all bank employees union of Tamilnadu Cooperative Bank protested in front of Erode Joint Registrar's Office, emphasizing 26 point demands. In this regard, it was decided to start an indefinite strike from March 23. 


Demands include equal pension and family pension benefits for Central Co-operative Bank employees, pension for retirees after 2021, withdrawal of pressure on banks to buy heavy vehicles, withdrawal of rule of biometric ration card holders for ration shop employees to go home and get thumb impression after six o'clock. 


In case of loss to the bank due to fall in the price of gold during auctioning of deposited gold jewellery, abandoning the practice of levying fines on employees Government should also pay interest and principal on waived jewellery, crop and self-help group loans, withdraw the order on crop loan regulations and set up a committee for transfer of secretaries. Medical insurance plan should be completed in full.
