Pondicherry University, Internal Quality Assurance Cell in collaboration with Rotary Club of Pondicherry Pride, Indian Medical Association- Puducherry Branch, and Indira Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute organised a Multi-Speciality Medical Camp for the students, teaching, non-teaching members and their families.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof.K. Tharanikkarasu, Vice-Chancellor (i/c), In his address he stated that we immerse ourselves in the demands of the work and neglect our health and this Medical camp indicates that Pondicherry University takes good care of its stakeholders. It is important to give proper attention to our health and well-being. Promoting healthy lifestyle and ensuring overall well-being is a crucial part of sustainable development. He further felicitated and appreciated the collaborating organisations for this healthy cause.
The camp covered General Medicine and other speciality areas like ENT, Neurology, Nephrology, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Dental, Dermatology, Orthopaedics, Social& Preventive medicine. The testing equipment were supported by IGMC&RI and Aruna Labs, Puducherry.
It was a highly impactful medical camp, extending vital healthcare access to the attendees. With a focus on preventive care and health education, the event provided screenings, consultations, and essential medical services to over 400 attendees. From addressing chronic conditions to promoting general wellness, the camp underscored the importance of accessible healthcare. The collaborative efforts of healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community members exemplify a commitment to improving public health outcomes.
Mr. Magesh, President & Mr.V.Balaji, Secretary of Rotary Club of Pondicherry Pride, Dr.Sreenivasan, General Secretary of Indian Medical association, Dr. Rajesh, Medical Superintendent, IGMC&RI were present. Other Senior practitioners, Rotarians were present during the camp.
The arrangements for camp were made by Dr.R.Vishnu Vardhan, Deputy Coordinator (IQAC) and IQAC team along with Dr.G.Subhalakshmi, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities) Coordinator, Pondicherry University.
