An Election Awareness program stressing the importance of voting in the upcoming Parliament Election was conducted by Tiruchirappalli Postal Region in coordination with Tiruchirappalli Collectorate.
Shri M. Pradeep Kumar IAS, District Collector, Tiruchirappalli visited the campus of Tiruchirappalli Head Post Office and a pledge was taken to ensure 100% voting in the election by the staff of Postal Department under his headship. The District Collector visited the Business Post Centre of Tiruchirappalli Head Post Office and oversaw the franking impression containing the message of Election Awareness made in each Postal article.
Further an initiative was made by Central Postal Region, to display a badge with words promoting 100% voting on the uniform of all the delivery staff (Postmen/Postwomen) of Tiruchirappalli Head Post Office. Since the delivery staff visit the residential area and offices regularly, the badge would help outreach the Voting Awareness Campaign to more people. The District Collector handed the badge to the delivery staff.
Further as a part of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation program, the mail vans displaying the Voting Awareness Message was flagged off by the District Collector followed by a rally participated by the staff of Department of Posts.
Shri S.Krishnamoorthi, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Tiruchirappalli Division, Assistant Directors,Accounts Officer, Senior Postmaster and other staff of Department of Posts attended the campaign.
