A new technique to control the effect of pink bollworm on cotton

In Edappadi block of Salem district, RAWE students of JKK Munirajah College of Agricultural Science conducted  demonstration to  farmers of the village in Edappadi block on management of pink bollworm in cotton. 


In the village named Chithoor the students of JKK Munirajah College of Agricultural Science, Erode district (Sarvatha G, Sharmila M, Sneka T, Snekha C, Someshwari S, Sreemayalakshmi NK, Sridharshini R, Subathra M, Sugindra K, Sujitha S) are undergoing RAWE - Rural Agricultural Work Experience programme through which they conducted demonstration for the farmers of the village. 


The students conducted demonstration on Application of CREMIT - PBW (Gossyplure 4% RTU). It is a long lasting pheromone based formulation for management of Pink Bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella). A slow and sustained release formulation for mating distruption. A advantage of this CREMIT includes it's temperature resistant and rainfastness.


Appliction of CREMIT reduces the pest incidence and increases the yield.


The farmers of the area said that the training and the explanation of the process by the students was useful.
