Lady Doak College celebrated 78th Independence Day

Lady Doak College celebrated the 78th Independence Day at 7.30 a.m. on 15.08.2024. The programme began with Prayer by Dr. C. Jessie Ranjitha Jebaselvi, Chaplain. Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal & Secretary delivered the welcome address and introduced the Chief Guests of the day, Ms. B. Shanthy, Associate Professor, Department of Zoology, Lady Doak College and Mrs. Preetha Joseph,  Associate Professor,  Department of English, Lady Doak College. 


The National Flag was hoisted by Ms. B. Shanthy and Mrs. Preetha Joseph delivered the Independence day address. She emphasized that we celebrate our unity in diversity, remembering the sacrifice, bravery, resilience and a strong sense of justice. Also mentioned women displayed unwavering determination, resilience and courage for freedom. She encouraged the students to excel in their academics and become a responsible citizen by rising against the serious challenges like casteism, criminalism. 


Part V students gave an amazing entertainment through mime, skit and dance exhibiting the patriotic spirit. Ms. Shenbaga Harishni, President, Student Cabinet delivered the Vote of Thanks.  The programme ended with the National Anthem. The event was organised by the Deans of Student Affairs Dr. Arockia Shyamala Paniyarasi and Dr. T. Mowna Sundari and Assistant Deans of Student Affairs Dr. Jullie Prathiba and Dr. Esther Elizabeth Grace.
