Mother Teresa Women’s University celebrated 78th Independence Day

Mother Teresa Women’s University, Madurai campus celebrated 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm on 15th August 2024, on the theme centred on “Viksit Bharat,” aligning with the Government of India’s vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.


The event was marked by a sense of national pride and enthusiasm, and the entire campus was adorned with the tricolor, reflecting the patriotic spirit of the day. The celebration commenced at 8:30 a.m. with Dr. M. Pushpa Rani, the  Director of the Madurai Campus, hoisting the National Flag, accompanied by the singing of the flag song. 


Following the flag hoist Dr. M. Pushpa Rani, delivered the special address on “Role of Students in Nation’s Development”. In her speech, she emphasized the crucial role that students play in shaping the future of the nation. She encouraged them to contribute actively to the development of India by acquiring knowledge, skills, and a strong sense of responsibility toward society. Her words inspired the students to envision their roles in building a developed and prosperous India by 2047. 


Students actively participated in Speech and Group songs on glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. Few parents attended the whole programme along with their wards. Student from I B.Ed Special Education proposed the Vote of thanks. Sweets were distributed to the students and faculty members. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
