TNAU’s Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Coimbatore hosted Ecofest ’24 – An International Conference on Sustainable Synergy: Navigating the Energy and Environmental Nexus on 23.08.2024. Around 500 participants, scientists and students from various college and industry experts attended the conference.
Dr. A. Raviraj in his felicitation address highlighted the placement achievements by the students of Energy and Environment Engineering at various industries, MNCs, and NGOs and higher studies at International and National Universities like IIT, NITs and also leading entrepreneurs like Leggo, Blue Bright, KCP Solar etc.
Prof.V.Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU presided the inaugural ceremony and distributed the certificate of appreciation for the Final Year Students for their commendable performance in the internships at various industries and institutes via Indian GeoInformatics Centre, Chennai, Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi, Jacobi Carbons India Pvt Ltd., Coimbatore, L&T Construction Heavy Civil Infrastructure, Chennai, PepsiCo, Hyderabad, Hatsun Agro Product Ltd., Chennai, Nestle INDIA Ltd., Mysore, SWELECT HHV Solar Photovoltaics, Coimbatore, MAHSA University, Malaysia & State Forest Research Institute, Chennai. In her inaugural address, she highlighted the importance of energy-environmental nexus, solar energy, hydrogen fuel, sustainable roof top for buildings and various government initiatives in energy and environmental sector and released the proceedings of the international conference.
Mr. Kumaraguru Rajasekar, LCA practitioner was the Chief Guest of the conference and notably he is an Alumni of Energy and Environmental Engineering (2006-2010 batch) at AEC&RI Coimbatore. In his Chief Guest address, he mentioned that theme on AI in energy and environment in the need of the hour to be discussed and rightly selected by conference team and also, he appreciated the student volunteers for the grand event.
The students of B.Tech. Energy and Environmental Engineering meticulously organized the Ecofest ’24. Students innovatively decorated the conference hall with art from wastes and the products used for the conference were eco-friendly.
