Central Bureau of Communication Field Office Tiruchirappalli under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is organising integrated communication Outreach Programme photo exhibition on Swachtha Hi Sewa, Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat at NIT Tiruchirapalli from September 27 to 29.
NIT Trichy Director Dr G Aghila inaugurated the photo exhibition by CBC at Oreon Hall as part of Festember. She said that Festember is celebrating golden jubilee this year and students from all over India is participating in various cultural events. Festember is one of the largest cultural festival by students in South India. She pointed out that Swachatha activities are being held regularly in NIT Trichy campus and cleanliness is a habit imbibed by students. Mass cleaning drive is held regularly in NIT Trichy campus to maintain Swachtha.
Field Publicity Officer Tiruchirapalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan said that the ICOP photo exhibition at NIT Trichy has photo panels on Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat, Swachatha Hi Sewa and International film festival of India. He pointed out that Tamil Nadu has been paired with Jammu and Kashmir under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. This is an initiative by government to promote national integration, cultural exchange between states. He stressed the schemes for youth exchange which will help young generation to know more diverse cultural ethnic heritage inside country. The exhibition on Swachtha Hi Sewa encompasses details about Swachtha Abhiyan.
In Phase II till now 11.65 individual household toilets have been built. As per records three lakh diarrheal deaths have been averted through Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in last ten years. He said that the photo exhibition will held till September 27 at the Festember venue. He said a poster exhibition on international film festival of India to be held at Goa from November 20 to 28.
Dr R Karvembu Dean Student welfare NIT Trichy, FPA Trichy Shri S Arunkumar were present. Pamphlets on central government schemes were distributed to students.
