In her tenure as President of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Jyoti Mayal has proven to be a visionary leader, championing initiatives that have reshaped the face of Indian tourism. Speaking on the future of the industry, Mayal expressed her strong belief in the pivotal role of India’s Southern region, calling it “one of the most essential growth areas for both domestic and international tourism.”

For Mayal, the Southern states – Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, to name a few – represent more than just popular travel destinations.  Leading the tourism industry through the global pandemic was no small feat, but Mayal’s leadership was both tactical and compassionate. Jyoti alongside TAAI’s team — strived for fair policies, refunds, and visa regulations, ensuring that the sector could weather the storm.

Mr. Venkat, Regional Director (South), Ministry of Tourism. "TAAI is a key stakeholder in India's travel industry, and since I assumed the role of Regional Director (South) for the Ministry of Tourism in March 2023, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Mrs. Jyoti Mayal and her incredible leadership team. Mrs. Mayal’s vision and dedication to elevating the industry have made our collaboration not only seamless but highly impactful. Her proactive approach and constant engagement have been pivotal, particularly in TAAI's invaluable support for conducting onsite assessments of hotels across the Southern Region.
