Central Bureau of Communication Field Office Tiruchirapalli in coordination with NIT Trichy organized Swachtha Hi Sewa at NIT Trichy campus on Sunday. The Swachtha activity was undertaken under the guidance of NIT Trichy Director Dr G Aghila. She said that Swachtha activity is carried out regularly in NIT Trichy campus to maintain cleanliness. Swachtha Hi sewa is organised in NIT Trichy from September 17 to October 2.
Swachtha pledge was taken at NIT Trichy campus on the final day of Festember September 29 led by Field Publicity Officer CBC Tiruchirapalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan and NIT Trichy Swachtha nodal officer Prof Dr Perumalswamy. Mass cleanliness campaign Swachtha Abhiyan was also conducted in NIT Trichy campus involving students.
FPO Trichy Shri K Devi Padmanabhan said that Swachtha Hi Sewa is organized to create awareness about Swachtha Abhiyan from September 17 to October 2 birthday of Gandhiji. He said that Swachtha Abhiyan was started in India by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on October 2 in the year 2014. Till now under Swachtha Abhiyan about 12 crore individual household toilets have been built. This has helped removing open defecation and reducing spread of epidemics. Central Bureau of Communication under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is organizing integrated communication outreach programmes to create awareness about Swachtha Hi Sewa.
Central Bureau of Coomunciation Trichy organized awareness programme at Devarayaneri village in Tirunedungulam block. This year Swabhav Swachtha Sanskaar Swachtha is the motto of Swachtha Hi Sewa. Moreover to safeguard environment tree saplings are planted under Ek Ped maa ke naam one tree sapling in the name of Mother earth. He said as part of Festember students cultural festival of NIT Trichy, Central Bureau of Communication set up photo exhibition on Swachtha Hi Sewa, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat and International Film Festival of India to be held at Goa. Selfie stand on Swachtha Hi Sewa was setup by NIT Trichy for students to create awareness about Swachtha.
Pamphlets on government schemes were also given to NIT Trichy Director Dr Aghila and Dean Students welfare Dr Karvembu. These pamphlets were distributed among students.
FPA CBC Tiruchirapalli Shri S Arunkumar coordinated the ICOP photo exhibition. The photo exhibition was held as part of Festember from September 27 to 29.
