Actor Vijay launched a political party named Tamizhaga Vetri kazhagam last February. In August, the party’s flag and anthem were introduced. Following this, the first conference of the Tamizhaga Vetri kazhagam has been announced to take place on October 27. This conference will be held in V. Salai village near Vikravandi in the Villupuram district. It is expected that Vijay's fans and supporters from all districts across the state will participate in the event.
In this context, under the guidance of the party’s General Secretary, N. Anand, a preparatory meeting for the first conference of the Tamizhaga Vetri kazhagam was held in Surandai on October 6, organized by the Tenkasi South District administration. Over 600 volunteers from various areas including Surandai, Tenkasi, kadayam, Kadayanallur, Alangulam, and Pavoorchatram participated in this meeting. During the gathering, it was decided that 5,000 members from the Tenkasi South District would attend the party’s first conference.
A digital political training workshop was organized to teach young volunteers how to engage effectively in the political field. This workshop, the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu, featured Thaedal Anandan, the National Secretary of the Forum of Digital Politics organization, as a special guest speaker.
Mr. Thedal anandan discussed the various digital tools available to achieve success in elections, how to use technology in the campaign field, digital campaigning strategies, campaign management, voter outreach, and the role of artificial intelligence. He emphasized that instead of focusing solely on winning as a candidate, it is crucial to think about how to defeat the opposing candidate. This mindset can lead to innovative strategies. He added that there are digital tools specifically designed for politics and elections, and it's essential for everyone to understand how to use these tools and the benefits they bring. He concluded by thanking the Surandai leadership team for inviting him to share his knowledge.
Madurai Kamalam Ventures Chairman J.K. Muthu extended his congratulations to Vijay, the leader of the Tamizhaga Vetri kazhagam on his entry into politics. He emphasized the importance of youth entering the political field and encouraged young people and students in politics to promote constructive politics. He advised that they should show great respect to their parents, avoid internal rivalry within the party. If any conflicts arise, one need to resolve them amicably among the leadership.
Speaking about the role of media in politics, Samuthra Senthil, founder of Samuthra Public Relations, emphasized the need to use digital platforms constructively. He advised that if any false information arises about the party or its leaders, it is essential to clarify the truth rather than responding to negative comments. He suggested that this approach should mark the beginning of constructive politics. By sharing news from newspapers extensively on digital media, one can attract voters in their constituency. He concluded that such digital campaigning can ultimately translate into votes.
