The Department of Plant Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, Centre for Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology is organizing Hands on Training - Next Generation Sequence Data Analysis, from 22nd to 25th October 2024. Participants from different institutes all over India from TNAU, S.V.University, Andhra Pradesh, Annamalai University, Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture and Providence Women's College Kozhikode are attending this programme. Four days training programme started with the Inaugural session.
Dr.L.Arul, Professor and Head, Dept. of Plant Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics delivered the welcome address. In his welcome note, he specified the scope of the training programme and the importance of NGS techniques. Followed by the welcome note, participants were allowed to introduce themselves. The inaugural address was given by Dr. N. Senthil, Director, CPMB&B where he emphasised the voluminous genomics data available and the importance of learning new sequencing technologies and related annotations. Dr. V. Balasubramani, Controller of Examinations, TNAU felicitated the gathering where he highlighted the importance of NGS techniques, their applications and their impact on current science with live examples. Dr.M.Jayakanthan, Asst prof, Dept. of Plant Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics delivered the vote of thanks.
