The AICC RCOG recently unveiled the Best Practice Guidelines on mandatory HPV Vaccination in Women of Targeted Age Groups. The All India Coordinating Committee of RCOG supports HPV vaccination and advocates for its accessibility to all eligible individuals, as this represents risk groups in preventing cervical cancer effectively. The consensus paper on best practice recommendations on mandatory HPV vaccination in women of targeted age groups was presented by the AICC of RCOG.
Speaking about the consensus recommendations, the All-India Chair of AICC RCOG Dr. Uma Ram said,“Raising awareness about the risks of HPV infection, especially among vulnerable groups, is essential to combating HPV-related health issues. HPV vaccines have the potential to prevent more than 90% of cancers caused by HPV. Vaccinating preadolescents and adolescents are crucial in building a healthier future, as their stronger immune response maximizes the effectiveness of the HPV vaccine. Through the Consensus Recommendation, AICC RCOG reaffirms its commitment to increasing awareness of HPV vaccination. We hope to drive greater awareness about HPV vaccination across communities and driving action towards protection and prevention.”
Speaking at the launch, Femina Miss India World 2024, Nikita Porwal’s said, “I am honored to be a part of this initiative that aims to educate and empower women in India to take proactive measures to protect themselves against preventable HPV- related diseases and infections like cervical cancer.
