A Cybercrime Awareness Camp was conducted at Kalasalingam University, Srivilliputhur, under the auspices of the Virudhunagar District Cybercrime Police Station. The event was led by Dr. K. Sridharan, who emphasized that students must always remain vigilant to protect themselves from cybercrimes. He advised immediate reporting of any incidents by contacting the helpline number 1930 and urged students to inform their elderly relatives about this.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Principal Dr. S. Sasi Anand encouraged students to act responsibly and attentively in their online engagements.
Virudhunagar District Superintendent of Police, Mr. T. Kannan, addressed the students as the special guest. He emphasized three key points:
Wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers, Eradicating the use of narcotics, and Staying alert and avoiding deceit in cyber interactions. He highlighted that negligence in online activities often results in financial losses.
Registrar Dr. V. Vasudevan, Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. K. Ashokan, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Shanmuga Sundaram also participated and shared their insights.
Inspector N. Meena of the Cybercrime Police Station delivered the welcome and vote of thanks.
The event was attended by 1,000 students, who benefited greatly from the awareness program.
