MEPZ Annual Health Camp 2024 Extends Care to Over 10,000 Employees

The Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) Special Economic Zone successfully concluded its Annual Health Check-Up Program on 06 December 2024, serving over 10,000 employees across its industrial units. This remarkable and consistent turnout underscore MEPZ’s steadfast commitment to employee health and well-being in the camp's third consecutive year.


This year's camp was organized in collaboration with Dr Rela Institute & Medical Centre, Dr Agarwal Eye Hospital, and the MEPZ Manufacturers' Association (MEPZMA). It featured a comprehensive range of health screenings and wellness services tailored to the diverse needs of MEPZ’s workforce.


Wellness Services at the Forefront


The health camp offered an extensive suite of preventive health screenings, including:


General Health Assessments: Blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol tests aimed at promoting overall wellness.


Eye Care Screenings: Routine eye examinations to detect issues like glaucoma and retinal disorders early.


Dietary Counselling: Personalized nutrition guidance to encourage healthy eating habits and lifestyle adjustments.


Empowering Women’s Health


In recognition of the critical importance of women’s health, the camp included specialized screenings such as:


Pap Smear and Mammograms: Focused on early detection of cervical and breast cancers, addressing prevalent health concerns among women.


Bone Density Tests: Designed to identify and manage osteoporosis, particularly for women above 40.


Thiru. Alex Paul Menon, IAS, Zonal Development Commissioner, MEPZ emphasized the growing awareness and adoption of preventive healthcare measures. "Programs like this health camp are a testament to the importance of regular screenings, which play a crucial role in early detection and long-term health improvement," he noted.
